Job Title: Senior Cultivation Planner
Department: Production
Reports to: Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Cultivation Planner is responsible for end-to-end planning across cultivation and manufacturing operations, ensuring product availability, inventory health, and execution against demand. This role owns short--term and long-term production planning while serving as a strategic partner to Operations, Cultivation, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain.
In addition to hands-on planning responsibilities, this role provides day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and oversight to a Production Planner, helping build planning capability, consistency, and accountability across the operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own end-to-end production and cultivation planning across weekly, monthly, and long-range horizons to meet demand, inventory, and service-level targets
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve planning tools, forecasts, schedules, and capacity models across cultivation and production
- Translate demand plans into executable production schedules, balancing labor, equipment, materials, and operational constraints
- Monitor plan adherence and operational performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to minimize risk and disruption
- Partner cross-functionally with Cultivation, Production, Demand Planning, Materials, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure alignment and execution
- Perform trend and variance analysis related to yield, throughput, labor utilization, and inventory health; communicate insights to leadership
- Provide functional leadership, guidance, and oversight to Production Planners and other planning roles reporting to this position
- Mentor, train, and support planners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and development of planning best practices
- Review and validate planning outputs, schedules, and reports produced by direct reports
- Establish planning standards, processes, and expectations across the planning function
- Serve as an escalation point for complex planning challenges, capacity constraints, and operational trade-offs
- Prepare and present planning updates, risks, and performance metrics to site and regional leadership
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in production planning, manufacturing planning, or supply chain planning
- Strong working knowledge of capacity planning, inventory management, and production scheduling principles
- Experience working in regulated, manufacturing, or cultivation environments preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, or supervise planners or operational team members
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, MJ Freeway) and advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
- Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
WORK SCHEDULE
40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
