The Senior Payroll Specialist is the senior-most individual contributor on the payroll team, responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across multiple entities.
This role owns the end-to-end payroll cycle while partnering with Finance to ensure data integrity, resolve discrepancies, and support payroll-related analysis and reporting. This position sets the standard for operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within payroll.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Operations
- Own full-cycle payroll for assigned entities (AJU, B6L, D4D, RY3)
- Audit, reconcile, and submit payroll by Wednesday 2:00 PM PT
- Process off-cycle payrolls and manual checks accurately
- Manage employee lifecycle changes (hires, LOAs, terminations)
- Ensure final pay compliance
- Act as primary backup for additional entities
Compliance & Reconciliation
- Perform daily and pre-payroll reconciliations (ADP, RR, Xero)
- Ensure compliance with wage & hour laws (OT, RROP, etc.)
- Support reporting and audits (Workers’ Comp, 401k, etc.)
- Maintain clean, complete payroll documentation
Requirements (must haves):
- ADP (or equivalent payroll system)
- Excel (lookups, reconciliation, data validation)
- Payroll compliance (federal, state, and local)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving
