Job Description

Senior Paralegal position with emphasis on corporate and insurance company responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and file documents with regulatory agencies, including the Department of Insurance and the Secretary of State
• Draft, review, and submit board of directors and committee materials, certifications, and other related corporate documents
• Conduct legal and corporate research; analyze and summarize findings and reports
• Prepare Securities & Exchange Commission Section 16 filings including Form ID, 3, 4 & 5
• Prepare NYSE filings and submission through Filing Manager
• Prepare foreign filings and related regulatory questionnaires
• Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely completion of assignments
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism

Work Environment

• Position is hybrid - with on-site requirement to be in the Chicago office, for a minimum of 3 days a week – Tuesday - Thursday
• Short term contract 3 month, could be extended and go direct to hire. However keep in mind to go permanent contractors have to be on 6+ months.
• Flexible on the hours that the candidate works, 8 hours per day, Start time can be: 7:30am or 8am or 8:30am

Qualifications

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree required

• 8+ years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on insurance or regulatory matters

• Paralegal experience with a corporate environment

• Experience handling UCAA applications (The Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA))

• Experience preparing and filing documents with regulatory agencies and supporting board-level activities

• Knowledge of FCC, section 16 files

Plus:

• Paralegal certification preferred

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Chicago,IL.
