Hiring: Senior OSP/ISP Optical Architect (L4)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite – 4 days/week)
Type: Contract to Hire (6 Months)
no C2C, only W2 candidates
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior OSP/ISP Optical Architect to lead end-to-end fiber network design—from outside plant (OSP) routes to inside plant (ISP) infrastructure and optical system turn-up. This role will own fiber paths from street to rack, ensuring high-performance, carrier-grade connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
Outside Plant (OSP):
- Design and validate metro fiber routes, conduits, and splice plans
- Ensure route diversity, capacity planning, and compliance with ROW constraints
- Review OTDR, loss reports, and acceptance criteria
Inside Plant (ISP):
- Design pathways from MPOE to MMR/TER including ODF layouts and patching
- Manage fiber types, connectors, labeling, and cable routing
- Create rack elevations and patch-field maps
Optical Systems & Turn-Up:
- Perform link budget analysis and optical validation (OSNR, BER)
- Support DWDM/CWDM systems, ROADMs, EDFAs, and pluggable optics
- Lead cutovers, MOP execution, and service activation
Additional Experience (Preferred)
- Supporting fiber for live broadcast / sporting events
- Ensuring low latency, jitter, and high reliability for real-time traffic
- Coordinating protected A/B fiber routes for critical environments
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in OSP + ISP fiber engineering
- Strong expertise in DWDM/CWDM, optical transport, and fiber design
- Experience with OTDR, fiber testing, and interpreting optical reports
- Proficiency with CAD/GIS tools (AutoCAD, QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Strong understanding of telecom standards (TIA, ITU-T, ANSI)
Nice to Have
- Certifications: BICSI, FOA, CCNP/SP, PMP
- Experience with Nokia/Ciena/Cisco optical systems
- Experience with MOPs, change management, and NMS/OSS integration
