About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of our growing law firm across multiple office locations. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a seasoned operations professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced professional services environment. You will work closely with equity partners and department managers in HR, Marketing, and Billing to keep the firm running efficiently and strategically.
What You’ll Do
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting; present regular updates to equity partners
- Oversee billing and accounting staff; monitor profitability at the attorney and client level
- Administer equity partner compensation, draws, and retirement plan processes (401(k) and Cash Balance Plan)
- Coordinate facilities and vendor relationships across multiple office locations
- Direct IT infrastructure, firm platforms, and technology initiatives through IT consultants
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all operational areas
- Oversee insurance coverage, annual filings, and risk management
- Partner with HR, Marketing, and Billing Managers to align departmental activities with firm goals
- Supervise administrative staff including receptionist, file clerk, and operations coordinator
- What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of operations or administrative management experience in a law firm or professional services setting
- Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting
- Working knowledge of HR processes, benefits administration, and employment compliance
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and practice management or financial systems
- Excellent communicator and relationship-builder; comfortable working directly with firm leadership
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities across locations
- Experience with retirement plan administration and/or attorney compensation structures a plus
