Senior Operations Manager – Precision Manufacturing

We’re seeking a high-impact Senior Operations Manager to lead a complex, high-mix, low-volume machining operation. This is a leadership role for someone who understands the realities of a machine shop environment and can translate that into execution, accountability, and measurable results.
This position is built for a strong operator—someone who can step in, bring structure, optimize performance, and elevate the team while driving the business forward.
What You’ll Own
- Full ownership of day-to-day operations across a precision machining environment
- Leadership and development of supervisors, leads, and machinists to drive performance and accountability
- Oversight of multiple concurrent production workflows, ensuring on-time delivery and quality standards
- Establishing and refining production systems, KPIs, and reporting structures to improve visibility and decision-making
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across throughput, efficiency, and cost optimization
- Partnering cross-functionally with engineering, programming, and quality to resolve complex production challenges
- Building scalable processes that support growth and operational maturity
What You Bring
- 5–10+ years of experience in machining/manufacturing operations, with clear progression into leadership roles
- Strong understanding of machine shop dynamics (CNC machining, scheduling, tooling, workflow constraints)
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop people, and drive accountability at multiple levels
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, reporting, operational dashboards) to support data-driven decisions
- Experience managing high-mix, low-volume production environments
- Demonstrated track record of improving throughput, reducing bottlenecks, and delivering results
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred
