What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the Baffles Business Unit for the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in Hot Section Module Center.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools on commercial and military turbine hardware. They will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to evaluate the most efficient and cost-effective process design. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing process alternatives based on improved manufacturability and producibility. Primary location in East Hartford CT and up to 10% travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop tooling and fixturing, process parameters, and controls to create a capable and stable process
  • Build and maintain shop floor work instructions for development hardware
  • Perform technology and process development tasks; including, first piece runs, measurement system analysis and capability assessments
  • Implementation of lean process improvements activities to meet schedule and cost targets
  • Coordination and communication with Engineering on Manufacturing capabilities, development timelines, and manufacturing readiness
  • Create and manage project plans to meet key deadlines and milestones
  • Own Manufacturing Readiness (MRL) progression of select hardware

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in operations, manufacturing engineering or similar experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written), work and relate with people at all levels of the organization and be self-sufficient.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Must be a US Citizen due to Government Contracts

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in sheet metal manufacturing and/or die creation, preferably on aerospace hardware
  • Proficiency in the application of continuous improvement tools: Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, PFMEA, Six Sigma and/or Red-X

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
