About the Role

TheSenior MedicalScienceLiaisonisa field-based, externalcustomer-facingmemberof the US therapeutic area medicalunitteam,responsible foranalyzing,interpreting anddisseminatingscientificdata,acquiring and translatingcustomerinsights,fostering external expert networks, andcompliantlyconnectingcustomersto Takedain order to advance medical strategy and improve patient outcomes.The West territories include the following states (must reside in territory): Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado.

How You Will Contribute

  • Externally-focused, KOL/HCP related activities are expected tocomprisea minimum of 80% of responsibilities

  • Build andmaintainprofessional relationships with KOLs/HCPs per individual territory plans aligned to medical strategy

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledgeregardingTakeda disease areas and products as well as therapeutic area competitor landscape; analyze and interpret complex scientific information anddisseminateto KOLs/HCPs in a compliant, fair-balanced, and non-misleading manner

  • Support strategically aligned Takeda-sponsored research and appropriatelyassistwith facilitation of medical collaborative studies and investigator-initiated research processes

  • Display advanced knowledge of therapeutic area key intelligence topics/questions and effectively collect, interpret, and internally communicate medical insights from KOLs/HCPs to inform and refine medical strategies and/or tactics

  • Identifyand cultivate partnership opportunities between KOLs/HCPs and Takeda US Medical

  • Participate in executing medical strategy at medical conferences (e.g., staff medical booth, internally communicate medical insightsacquiredthrough poster/session attendance and KOL/HCP interactions)

  • Within defined timelines and quality standards, respond to unsolicited HCP medical information inquiries referred by Medical Information

  • Appropriatelyleveragedigital tools, including AI, to enhance productivity and improve efficiency (e.g., KOL/HCP engagement planning, medical insights reporting)

  • Complete all requiredcustomer activity documentation(e.g., CRM entries, insights capture, etc.),training, expense reporting, and other administrative responsibilities ina timely,accurate, and compliant manner

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

Required:

  • Doctoraldegreein life/healthsciences ispreferred(PharmD, MD, PhD, or equivalent).Master’s degree inhealthsciences(MSN,NPor PA)is theminimumrequirement

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience post-doctorate as a field-based medical science liaison (MSL) in the pharmaceutical industry is required

  • Excellentcommunication(written and verbal),organizationand collaboration skillsarerequired

  • Execution ofactivitieswithin legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements

Preferred:

  • Disseminationofcomplexscientificdatato healthcare audiences

  • Relevant therapeutic area knowledge andexpertise

  • Clinical, research, and/or teaching experience

  • Ability to work effectively in virtual and cross-functional teams

  • Use of digital tools, including AI, to enhance productivity and improve efficiency

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent travel isrequired; must be available to travel up to 70% of time, including some overnight and weekend

  • Abilityto driveand/or fly tomeetingsand customers isrequired

  • Must have clean and valid driver’s license

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$151,100.00 - $237,490.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
