Summary:
- Seeking a highly experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Transformation Leader with a strong background in large, complex enterprises, such as petrochemicals, aerospace & defense, aviation, or industrial manufacturing
- This individual will bring hands-on SAP ERP experience (including SAP MDG) and deep expertise in Informatica MDM, having successfully transitioned or modernized an organization’s MDM platform from SAP to Informatica
- This role partners closely with business, IT, data governance, and architecture teams to design, execute, and optimize enterprise-wide master data strategies that support digital transformation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance
- This position is Remote, with occasional travel to Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
SAP & Enterprise Data Experience:
- Served as a senior SAP practitioner within a large-scale ERP environment (ECC and/or S/4HANA) in industries such as petrochemicals, aviation, aerospace & defense, energy, or industrial manufacturing
- Led or supported SAP MDG implementations, governing key domains, such as:
- Material / Product Master
- Vendor / Supplier
- Customer / Business Partner
- Worked closely with functional teams (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement) to align master data models with business processes
Informatica MDM Leadership:
- Acted as a lead architect or subject‑matter expert for Informatica MDM / IDMC, including:
- Data domains, hierarchies, and golden record design
- Match & merge strategies
- Survivorship rules
- Workflow and stewardship configuration
- Designed and implemented enterprise master data governance frameworks outside of SAP using Informatica capabilities
SAP-to-Informatica Transformation:
- Led or played a critical role in transitioning master data management from SAP MDG to Informatica, including:
- Data model mapping between SAP and Informatica
- Migration strategy and execution
- Coexistence and decoupling strategies
- Decommissioning or downscaling SAP MDG where applicable
- Defined integration patterns between Informatica and SAP (IDoc, APIs, ETL, real-time services)
Data Governance & Strategy:
- Established or enhanced enterprise data governance operating models, including:
- Data ownership, stewardship, and approval workflows
- Data quality metrics, KPIs, and remediation processes
- Metadata management and lineage
- Partnered with executive stakeholders to align MDM strategy with business transformation initiatives, M&A activity, and regulatory requirements
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Acted as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across IT, business, compliance, and architecture
- Led cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, governance leads, and system integrators
- Mentored junior MDM practitioners and helped establish best practices and standards
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of enterprise data experience, including significant work in SAP ERP environments
- Hands-on SAP MDG experience (implementation, support, or governance leadership)
- Deep expertise in Informatica MDM / IDMC, including architecture and delivery leadership
- Demonstrated success transitioning master data ownership from SAP to Informatica
- Experience working in highly regulated, asset heavy, or safety critical industries (petrochemical, aviation, aerospace, energy, industrial manufacturing)
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration, data modeling, and data quality management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with S/4HANA transformation programs
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and analytics ecosystems
- Background in M&A data integration and master data harmonization
- Familiarity with Informatica Cloud, Axon, EDC, or Data Quality tools
