We are seeking aSenior Marketing Cloud Analystto serve as our primary platform owner and strategic advisor for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This is a solo practitioner role requiring exceptional self-direction, technical depth, and consultative maturity. You will be the definitive voice on Marketing Cloud capabilities, limitations, andappropriate usecases—working at the intersection of Marketing, Product, andEngineeringteams to ensurewe'releveragingthe right tool for the right job.

The successful candidate will transform our current Marketing Cloud footprint (limited email Journeys) into a strategic communication engine whilemaintainingclear boundaries around when Salesforce native automation is the superior choice. This requires someone who can articulate technical realities with diplomacy, hold firm on platform best practices under stakeholder pressure, and serve as a trusted advisor rather than an order-taker.

Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Strategy

  • Serve as thesingle sourceof truthfor Marketing Cloud capabilities, constraints, and roadmap at KinderCare

  • Develop andmaintaina clear decision framework for when Marketing Cloud isappropriate versusSalesforce native automation (Flow Builder, email templates, Process Automation)

  • Own the Marketing Cloud architecture, including data model design, integration patterns with Sales Cloud/Service Cloud, and governance standards

  • Proactivelyidentifyopportunities to expand Marketing Cloudutilizationin alignment with businessobjectives(email optimization, SMS/MobileConnectexpansion, journey sophistication)

Technical Execution

  • Design, build, test, and deploy email campaigns, automated journeys, and multi-channel communications using Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Content Builder

  • Develop andmaintaindata extensions, SQL queries, and segmentation logic to support targeted communications

  • Implement personalization usingAMPscriptand dynamic content

  • Manage Marketing Cloud Connect integration with Salesforce CRM, ensuring data synchronization integrity and troubleshooting sync issues

  • Establish andmaintaindeliverability best practices (authentication, list hygiene, engagement scoring, suppression management)

  • Plan and execute SMS/MobileConnectimplementation when business requirements mature

Consultative Partnership

  • Serve as the "voice of the platform"when evaluating Product or Marketing requests—providing honest, evidence-based assessments of feasibility, level of effort, and architectural appropriateness

  • Translate technical constraints into business language for non-technical stakeholders

  • Proactively educate Marketing and Product teams on platform capabilities and limitations, reducing the frequency of requests for impossible or inadvisable implementations

  • Document decision rationale andmaintaina knowledge base of "why we do it this way" to ensure institutional memory

Governance & Quality

  • Establish and enforce naming conventions, folder structures, and documentation standards

  • Develop testing protocols and QA processes to prevent send errors

  • Monitor platform health metrics, deliverability KPIs, and journey performance

  • Manage subscriber data quality, consent/compliance (CAN-SPAM, TCPA for SMS), and preference center functionality

Qualifications
  • 5+yearshands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder)

  • DemonstratedproficiencyinAMPscriptfor email personalization

  • StrongSQL skillsfor data extension queries and segmentation

  • Experience withMarketing Cloud Connectand understanding of synchronized data sources, triggered sends, and CRM integration patterns

  • Working knowledge ofSalesforce Sales Cloud/Service Cloud, particularly Flow Builder, Process Automation, and native email capabilities—you must understand both platforms to advise on toolselection

  • Understanding of email deliverability fundamentals: authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), sender reputation, list hygiene, and engagement metrics

  • Demonstrated experience as asolo practitioner or primary platform owneryou'veoperatedwithout a team to rely on and thrived

  • Track recordofstakeholder managementin environments with competing priorities or challenging team dynamics

  • Experienceprovidingtechnical guidance to Product or Marketing teams, including the ability todecline or redirect requeststhatdon'talign with platform capabilities or best practices

  • Background in B2C communicationsatscale, preferably in industries with high-touch customer journeys (education, healthcare, retail, hospitality)

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialistand Salesforce Marketing Cloud AdministratorCertifications
