Job Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II specializing in Portable Metrology to support inspection and dimensional reporting processes. This role involves utilizing advanced measurement tools such as laser trackers, Faro arms, and high-volume scanners to ensure product quality and compliance. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address product issues, develop inspection plans, and provide actionable data to Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and generate dimensional reports using laser trackers, Faro arms, and high-volume scanners.
• Create detailed inspection reports for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality departments.
• Perform laser inspections of new design installations for integration into manufacturing.
• Conduct inspection tasks for new designs and design changes.
• Interface with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve product issues.
• Develop and deliver quality inspection plans and reports for internal teams and customers.
• Review inspection data and assist in developing preventative action plans.
• Retrieve quality data and communicate results and statuses to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

1. 4-year technical degree or equivalent relevant experience.
2. Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
3. Experience using PolyWorks software.
4. Hands-on experience with measurement/inspection equipment, including:
5. Portable CMM
6. Laser Tracker
7. High-Volume Scanner (e.g., Surphaser).

Preferred Qualifications (if any)

1. Engineering experience in a defense environment.
2. Specialized technical knowledge of military and commercial design standards.
3. Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly processes.
4. Experience with CAD modeling software such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or similar.

Certifications (if any)

1. No specific certifications required; relevant metrology or quality certifications are a plus.
