Our client is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer!


About the Role

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a key problem‑solver responsible for improving manufacturing processes, driving technical innovation, and supporting major equipment and facility initiatives. You will evaluate alternative solutions, develop cost and feasibility analyses, and lead projects from concept through execution. This role also designs or specifies equipment to meet evolving manufacturing needs.

You’ll work on a wide range of challenges, from incremental process improvements to large‑scale equipment installations or facility modifications. For major projects, you’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including plant leadership and corporate engineering groups, and support all phases of installation, debugging, implementation, and training. You may also contribute to new product launches by integrating new models into existing manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing issues and develop multiple solution paths.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions for efficiency, feasibility, and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of plant operating systems, mechanical equipment, and automation technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes by staying current with advancements in mechanical, electrical, and automation technologies.
  • Provide regular project updates to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  • Prepare tool orders, material requisitions, and technical specifications for external vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal tooling teams to support tooling builds, repairs, and modifications.
  • Lead or support major equipment installations, including set‑up, debugging, and operator training.
  • Coordinate AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) documentation for assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant technical or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple complex projects.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to apply practical experience to new challenges.
  • Proficiency with Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Hands‑on experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling, and automated systems.
  • Experience with APQP processes for new product launches.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, especially with automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows‑based systems, including configuration for machine interfaces and network communication.
