The Sr Manager, Social Impact and President, 7-Eleven Cares Foundation, provides strategic leadership and operational management of 7-Eleven's comprehensive social impact and philanthropy agenda, including full oversight of the 7-Eleven Cares Foundation. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing social impact initiatives, Foundation grantmaking activities, and strategic plans that align with the company's ESG Vision, business objectives, and philanthropic mission. The position serves as the primary voice and representative of the Foundation, working closely with the VP-ESG, EVP-Chief People & Sustainability Officer, Foundation Board of Directors, functional leaders, investment advisors, philanthropic partners, franchisees, and key vendors to position 7-Eleven as a foundational community partner and responsible corporate citizen.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive social impact and philanthropy strategy aligned with the 7&I ESG vision, SEI 7-Impact framework, and 7-Eleven Cares Foundation mission; define long-term priorities, partnerships, and programs that advance DE&I and community impact goals.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all social impact initiatives; partner cross-functionally to collect data, generate insights, and deliver clear, compelling progress reports to senior leadership and the Foundation Board.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all Foundation events and convenings; set annual objectives, evaluate sponsorship opportunities, and manage internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact engagements.
  • Design and implement employee and franchisee engagement strategies that drive participation in giving and volunteerism, aligned to core pillars (health, safety, and youth opportunity) and measurable community outcomes.
  • Manage Board governance and engagement, including preparing materials, leading at least three annual meetings, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead communications and public relations strategy for the Foundation, including oversight of annual reporting, digital presence, and integrated storytelling that amplifies 7Impact initiatives across internal and external platforms.
  • Develop and execute a sustainable fundraising strategy to build the Foundation endowment and support annual giving targets (~1% of pre-tax profit); oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in partnership with the Board and advisors.
  • Launch and scale multi-year signature programs across key giving pillars; align initiatives with enterprise priorities and drive cross-functional collaboration with Real Estate, Government Affairs, and Franchising.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with organizations serving diverse and underrepresented communities; expand and optimize the partner portfolio to maximize program reach and impact.
  • Design and administer competitive grant programs (e.g., Project A-Game), including partner selection, program structure, and expansion into new markets and communities.
  • Oversee end-to-end grantmaking operations, including strategy, application review, financial analysis, award decisions, compliance, and impact evaluation.
  • Lead and develop Foundation staff and external partners, managing direct reports and vendor relationships while fostering strong collaboration across the organization and social impact ecosystem.

Qualifications

The selected President will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy,and/or the nonprofit sector. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Public Policy, Communications, Social Sciences, or related field required; Master's degree preferred

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 8+ years

YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 3+ years

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Deep expertise in corporate social responsibility, ESG frameworks, and philanthropic best practices, preferably within retail or consumer-facing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of private foundation operations, including governance, IRS regulations, and legal/compliance requirements.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and partnering with investment advisors.
  • Strategic planning and program design capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to align social impact initiatives to business priorities and community needs.
  • Advanced project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including development of executive-level presentations, Board materials, and impact narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with nonprofit partners, community organizations, government stakeholders, and internal leaders.
  • Experience with grantmaking operations and systems, as well as data analytics and impact measurement tools.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to lead Board meetings, cross-functional forums, and external convenings.
  • Working knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles as applied to community engagement and philanthropic strategy.
  • Ability to serve as an external ambassador and thought leader in corporate philanthropy and social impact.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools; familiarity with social impact measurement and reporting standards.
