Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking an experienced land surveying professional to oversee and/or perform the most complex and difficult technical surveys, including cadastral, rights-of-way, control, monitoring, and topographic surveys. Senior Land Surveyors are responsible for the management of crews involved in all aspects of land surveying, including field data collection and reconnaissance. In addition, they prepare legal descriptions and exhibit maps for recording and are responsible for creating project estimates and schedules. Senior Land Surveyors draft topographic and right-of-way maps used to design municipal infrastructure for Capital Improvement Projects, integrating technological equipment with complex software, and serving as a technical expert for the Land Survey Section. This Senior Land Surveyor position reports to the Land Survey Manager within the Project Delivery Branch.
The Senior Land Surveyor performs professional land surveying work to protect City and private property, easements, and rights-of-way while promoting the public welfare of Seattle citizens. Specific responsibilities include:
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office a minimum of twice a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor and may be subject to change based on business needs.

The full salary range for this position is: $62.79 - $70.35 per hour
