Team Summary
We are building the next generation of EMR scheduling and practice management software designed to streamline and enhance the accuracy of scheduling processes for healthcare providers and their patients. This team is focused on creating software that directly impacts millions of patients by improving their healthcare experience. As a member of this team, you will write code that continuously refines and elevates these experiences, ensuring that the solutions are reliable, scalable, and user-friendly. Your job is to develop and support frontends backed by highly performant and scalable APIs.We aspire to use all the usual industry best practices such as continuous delivery and iterative agile methodologies. We do two-week sprints and rollout our features quickly to a subset of our customers for feedback as they mature. Your work will contribute to meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery and patient outcomes, making a tangible difference in the lives of real people.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Engineers, a Scrum Master, a Product Owner, and an Experience Designer.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
Adhere to DoD (story definition of done) as part of the sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, code reviews, bug fixes, documentation, and coding best practices.
Implement automated testing and continuous integration to improve software quality.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align development efforts with business objectives

Assist in evaluating and adopting new technologies to enhance product capabilities.
Contribute to documentation of software design, architecture, and operational procedures.
Support team planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Engage in knowledge sharing and technical training within the team.
Full-Stack experience or interest
Expected Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
4 to 8 years of professional experience in software development.
Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript and React frameworks (experience with advanced concepts like hooks, portals are a plus).
Experience creating testframeworks (e.g. Jest, Playwright).
Experience withAgile and Scrum methodologies.
Experience with deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket, etc.
Expected Compensation
$113,000 - $193,000The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevantknowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles,and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
