Senior Financial Analyst (HYBRID - 2 days On-Site per week in DC)

Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst will manage daily accounting operations using QuickBooks Pro, ensuring accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance are accurate and timely. The role includes overseeing an outsourced accounting team, leading month-end close, owning payroll administration, and ensuring compliance with local employment, tax, and statutory requirements. The successful candidate will handle project accounting across various grants and contracts, track budgets, and ensure expenditures comply with funder requirements. They will partner with the CFO to develop financial reports and analyses, maintain the annual budget, and update projections monthly.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations in QuickBooks Pro.
  • Lead month-end close and manage payroll administration.
  • Own project accounting, tracking budgets and burn rates.
  • Collaborate with the CFO on financial reports and analyses.
  • Build and maintain annual budget and rolling forecasts.
  • Conduct budget-to-actual variance analysis and interpret trends.
  • Take full ownership of financial reporting, both routine and ad-hoc.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
  • Provide support to the international team.

  • 3+ years of experience as an Accountant or Financial Analyst.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro.

  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and data visualization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • Exposure to digital health or software environments.
  • Strong communication skills with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with payment processing and vendor management platforms.

Work Environment

This role reports to the CFO and operates on a hybrid model based in DC, requiring two days onsite (Tuesday and Thursday). The position involves close collaboration with the CFO, providing crucial support in administrative tasks. The company boasts a great culture, with a team-oriented atmosphere where lunches are often ordered in as a group. A 10% bonus structure is also offered.

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
