ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Financial Advisor is responsible for delivering outstanding financial planning and investment advice and service to clients of NCU Investment Solutions. They seek out and build deep and lasting relationships with clients, acting as their primary financial advisor and helping guide them to achieving their long-term financial goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Cultivates a portfolio of clients, developing a deep and lasting relationship, acting as their primary financial advisor and providing their clients with exceptional service.
- Acts as a fiduciary, using the financial planning process to work directly with affluent and high-net-worth clients to uncover needs and provide broad-based guidance, designed to achieve their client's financial goals.
- Meets regularly with existing clients to review plans, assess progress toward goals, uncover needs, and pinpoint additional opportunities to provide value.
- Clearly articulates NCU Investment Solutions' value proposition to referred as well as self-sourced prospective clients in order to earn relationships.
- Partners with internal and external centers of influence to identify and generate appropriate referrals.
- Develops relationships with allied professionals such as attorneys, CPAs and other professionals as resources for clients and sources of referrals.
- Proactively engages in and documents marketing efforts as directed, to include outbound phone calls, emails, direct mail and other methods as appropriate.
- Meets or exceeds business building goals set by leadership for client relationship and asset growth.
- Coaches and mentors less experienced advisors and licensed branch staff to ensure high quality and consistent advice as well as seamless referrals of complex cases and established investors.
- Utilizes financial planning software and other tools to present recommendations designed to help clients achieve financial goals.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the SVP, Director of Wealth Management and Financial Planning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's degree required or relevant equivalent experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a client facing investment advice role at an RIA, bank, brokerage firm or similar.
- Must have excellent analytical skills and demonstrated knowledge and expertise in areas of portfolio management, retirement income planning, insurance, estate planning and tax planning.
- Must act with the highest level of ethical conduct in all dealings with clients and coworkers.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal skills as well as comfort and experience making presentations to groups.
- Must possess a strong team focus and be a positive role model for others.
- Must have the ability to clearly articulate a compelling value proposition and overcome objections.
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding established sales goals is required.
- Should be adept and comfortable with proactive marketing and prospecting to include professional networking, outbound phone calls and other activities as assigned.
- Should be outgoing and people focused, with a history of being able to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
- Should have current professional licensing to include Life, Accident, Health as well as Series 65 or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Certified Financial Planner designation or the ability to complete in 24 months is desirable. Progress toward completion preferred.
- Must be PC proficient, including Microsoft Office and the Internet, along with experience with industry specific software such as financial planning and CRM.
