Senior External Reporting Analyst

Bill Watts at Robert Half is partnering with a global growing public manufacturing company who is looking to directly hire a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation, analysis, and filing of external financial reports for a publicly traded manufacturing company. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal controls under SOX, while supporting accurate and timely financial disclosures. The position partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and related disclosures
  • Assist with the preparation of earnings releases, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and company accounting policies
  • Research and document accounting guidance for new or complex transactions, including revenue recognition, inventory, manufacturing costs, leases, and fixed assets
  • Support the quarter-end and year-end close process, including consolidation and financial statement tie-outs
  • Maintain and enhance SOX documentation, controls, and compliance processes related to financial reporting
  • Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, cost accounting, FP&A, tax, and legal teams to ensure accurate reporting and disclosures
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards and SEC regulations on the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • CPA strongly preferred (or active progress toward certification)
  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting, preferably supporting public companies
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Experience with manufacturing environments, including inventory and cost accounting concepts, preferred
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar) and financial reporting tools
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Workiva or similar SEC reporting software preferred
