Senior Estimator – Water/Wastewater

About the Opportunity
We’re representing a leading, rapidly growing general contractor specializing in water, wastewater, and advanced treatment infrastructure projects across the U.S. This organization delivers critical systems that directly impact communities, public health, and environmental sustainability.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to bring on a Senior Estimator to support high-profile municipal, industrial, and advanced technology projects in the Phoenix market.
The Role
As a Senior Estimator, you’ll play a key role in preconstruction and bid development, working closely with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to deliver accurate and competitive project estimates.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys complex, heavy civil or industrial work and wants to be part of a business focused on meaningful infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for proposals, projects, and studies
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of the estimating process from takeoffs through final submission
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify risks and opportunities
- Develop pricing strategies based on productivity, materials, and construction methods
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, operations) on estimate inputs
- Solicit, review, and validate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Compile and analyze bids to ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Conduct constructability reviews and provide input to project teams
- Maintain and leverage historical cost data to improve estimating accuracy
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the supply chain
What They’re Looking For
- 10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure construction
- Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Proficiency with tools like Excel, Bluebeam, and takeoff software
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Preferred Experience
- Water / wastewater or related infrastructure projects
- Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, or hard-bid environments
- Field experience and/or exposure to cost control & scheduling
- Familiarity with tools like HCSS HeavyBid, Planswift, or Agtek
Compensation & Benefits
- $175,000 – $180,000 base salary
