Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

Metric Geo are working with a well-established, employee-owned heavy civil contractor seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex bid efforts across earthwork, transportation and infrastructure projects. This role owns the estimate from first review through handoff and plays a key role in winning future projects.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the full estimating process on large heavy civil bids
• Review plans, specs, reports, and site conditions
• Develop detailed cost estimates for earthwork, utilities, materials, labor, equipment, and trucking
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing and select best-value options
• Identify risks (soil, groundwater, logistics, schedule) and build mitigation strategies
• Collaborate closely with operations and project teams to align means and methods
• Support bid strategy, value engineering, and post-award handoff

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years estimating heavy civil projects
• Strong experience with mass earthwork, utilities and earthwork
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and MS Office
• AGTEK and P6 experience preferred
• Strong commercial judgment, communication, and leadership skills
