JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the development of accurate, data‑driven cost models and pricing strategies across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role sits within a Design‑Build organization operating under a vertically integrated delivery model, where our client serves as both designer and general contractor—responsible for all construction scopes from land development through interior finish‑out.

The Design‑Build team delivers a wide range of project types, including residential, commercial, hospitality and education projects, all anchored around innovative 3D printing construction technology that is transforming how structures are designed and built.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, detail‑oriented construction professional with a strong foundation in estimating, scheduling, and cost control fundamentals. This individual thrives in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment and collaborates closely with design, material science, operations, and technology teams to redefine building delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and pricing models for a wide range of Design‑Build projects, including production residential, custom residential, commercial, hospitality, educational, and other product types

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets that integrate with internal design, construction, and 3D printing operations

• Partner with design, build operations, print operations, material supply chain, and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs are cost‑efficient and constructible

• Contribute throughout the pre‑construction and design development phases with a focus on budget adherence, constructability, value engineering, and early trade partner engagement

• Collaborate with building performance, material science, and technology teams to identify innovative materials, processes, and design optimizations that generate measurable cost savings

• Support business development with conceptual and schematic‑level estimates for pursuits, proposals, and pricing strategies

• Lead bid solicitations, review subcontractor proposals, perform bid leveling, and ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing

• Conduct market research and maintain accurate cost databases and benchmark models reflecting current pricing, escalation, and regional trends

• Review design documents and specifications for accuracy, coordination, and completeness, providing actionable feedback to design and engineering teams

• Support the development of project delivery strategies, procurement plans, and subcontractor engagement approaches aligned with an integrated general contracting model

• Prepare and present estimate summaries, cost analyses, and variance reports to leadership and client stakeholders

• Serve as a technical resource to junior estimators, promoting consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across estimating processes

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, construction management, purchasing, or other pre‑construction roles

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

• Proven experience estimating projects within a general contractor or design‑build environment, covering full project scopes from sitework through finish‑out

• Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction (preference is commercial), including both self‑perform and subcontracted scopes

• Expertise in cost modeling, value engineering, and risk management across complex project types • Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, or similar tools

• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis, reporting, and cost modeling

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across design, operations, engineering, and finance teams

• Self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative, high‑growth environment and is passionate about advancing construction technology
