Job Description
The Senior Epic Cogito Analyst provides strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for implementing and proactively supporting clinical and operational self-service analytics tools at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, with a special focus on tools within the electronic health record (Epic Systems). Works closely with business users and stakeholders to determine and manage data requirements for a project, program, or initiative. Has expertise in self-service analytics with a strong understanding of the data ecosystem and able to guide end users to the best tools to fulfill data requests. Advocates for user needs and is a technical subject matter expert for configuring new reports and visualizations. They will also have strong relationships with Business Intelligence developers who can augment what is available through custom reporting as well as Epic Analysts who can configure groupers, registries, and other tools in Epic to facilitate reporting.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience as an Epic analyst with significant involvement in data-driven projects for quality improvement, research, or operations, or other organizational needs
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in the role of Epic Cogito Analyst at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta or equivalent experience
- Experience in Epic
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, related field, or equivalent technical training and experience or front-line clinical experience (e.g., nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, etc.) with experience participating in data-driven projects.

- Data analysis skills (e.g., using R, Python, or other statistical programming language) are preferred but not required.
Job Responsibilities
- Implements highly complex, multi-function application reporting tools independently.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for Epic Cogito.
- Leads business analysis, data literacy education, requirement documentation, management and validation for Epic Cogito.
- Ensures accuracy and reliability of data in delivered content through QA and testing using all available resources and resolves data discrepancies.
- Utilizes strong task management skills to track and prioritize outstanding customer needs, communicate timelines, and deliver solutions that meet key business needs first and continuously works to improve processes and speed time to market.
- Leads in assessment, coordination, documentation, release note review, testing and implementation of programming, upgrade, and project requests.
- Advocates user perspective and focuses on ensuring a comprehensive support plan and documentation and helps develop data literacy activities.
- Assists and mentors team members and other staff and serves as orientation resource for new employees.
- Participates in educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and expertise.
- Serves as a positive change agent across teams.
