About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead electrical engineering delivery across utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects in the U.S.
This role owns electrical scope from early development through construction, commissioning, and operations. You’ll act as the technical authority across multiple projects, working closely with EPC contractors, utilities, vendors, and internal teams to ensure compliant, high-performing power plants.
This is a hands-on senior position suited to an experienced electrical leader who enjoys owning technical outcomes and influencing major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all electrical engineering activities for utility-scale solar and BESS projects across development, design, construction, commissioning, and operations
- Provide technical direction and subject-matter expertise for both new projects and existing operating assets
- Partner with project management and procurement teams to support on-time and cost-effective project delivery
- Coordinate engineering efforts with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, utilities, and regulatory authorities
- Oversee engineering studies, feasibility assessments, and detailed design reviews
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, safety regulations, environmental standards, and internal engineering requirements
- Own MV/HV systems, substations, protection & control, and grid interconnection scope
- Support ERCOT interconnection processes and Texas grid requirements
- Monitor plant performance and recommend optimization strategies
- Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, reports, and specifications
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve plant efficiency, reliability, and sustainability
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal engineering teams and external partners
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 15+ years of professional electrical engineering experience
- At least 5+ years working on utility-scale solar projects (BESS experience strongly preferred)
- Proven experience in engineering management and technical leadership
- Strong working knowledge of: MV/HV electrical systems, Substations, Protection & Control and Grid interconnection
- In-depth understanding of U.S. electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE)
- Direct experience with ERCOT and Texas interconnection requirements
- Experience working with EPC contractors and field construction teams
- Strong technical documentation, design review, and approval capabilities
