Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to serve as an Audio Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Lead within the Core Services domain. The role involves leading the design, development, and integration of advanced automotive audio systems, with a strong focus on DSP, CODEC technologies, and embedded software development. The candidate will drive technical decisions, mentor team members, and ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with automotive standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for audio system development in automotive platforms.
- Design, develop, and optimize audio DSP pipelines, including tuning and performance enhancements.
- Work extensively on Audio CODECs, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Lead board bring-up activities related to audio subsystems and validate hardware-software interactions.
- Develop and maintain low-level drivers for audio components.
- Implement and fine-tune equalization (EQ) and other audio processing algorithms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, Android, and system engineering.
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with secure coding practices, particularly in C/C++.
- Troubleshoot complex system-level audio issues and drive root-cause analysis.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong expertise in Audio DSP, signal processing concepts, and real-time audio systems.
- Hands-on experience with Audio CODECs and audio hardware integration.
- Proven experience in board bring-up and debugging at the hardware-software interface.
- Solid understanding of device driver development (preferably Linux/Android-based systems).
- Experience with audio tuning and EQ implementation.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming, with a focus on secure and efficient coding practices.
- Familiarity with Android application development and audio framework is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Automotive domain experience, especially in infotainment or audio systems.
- Exposure to Android Audio HAL / AOSP audio architecture.
- Experience with performance optimization and latency reduction in audio pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Relevant experience in embedded audio systems development.
