We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join the team in the New York City area (onsite). This role leads full-cycle estimating efforts on complex projects while playing a key role in preconstruction strategy and team development.
What You'll Do as the Senior Electrical Estimator:
- Lead detailed cost estimating for large electrical construction projects
- Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to define full project scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs across power, lighting, and low voltage systems
- Build labor, material, and equipment cost models
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost efficiencies
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure complete and competitive pricing
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
- Prepare and submit competitive proposals and support bid presentations
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers through preconstruction
- Support handoff to operations teams upon project award
- Contribute to design-build and design-assist initiatives
- Mentor junior estimators and help refine estimating best practices
Must-Haves as the Senior Electrical Estimator:
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with a contractor
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods
- Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, or similar
- Ability to perform detailed takeoffs and cost modeling
- Proven ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience managing multiple bids and deadlines
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
- Vendor negotiation and bid management experience
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Electrical Estimator:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Experience with BIM and digital takeoff tools
- Leadership experience mentoring or managing junior team members
- Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or public works projects
