This position is primarily responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of electrical systems for microgrids, mobile power generation, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. Duties can involve some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting work. Our client provides mobile turnkey power generation and distribution solutions that reduce costs through improved efficiency, reduced fuel consumption, and power load optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Design and review of medium/low voltage electrical power generation, distribution and microgrid systems
- Preparation of electrical documentation including Short Circuit, Arc Flash and Coordination, Power System, Grounding, Load Flow, Harmonics, Fault studies, and Transient studies using software such as ETAP
- Preparation of other documentation including area classifications, drawings and reports, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and electrical BOMs as well as reports associated with electrical system studies
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to electrical systems
- Provide engineering support to other departments as needed
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years engineering experience in power generation, BESS systems, transmission & distribution, renewables, or related fields.
- Proven knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure and equipment.
- Familiarity with power generation, load flow, transmission & distribution, renewables, protective relaying, communication protocols, and proficiency with sizing electrical equipment.
- Must be willing to be hands-on and get into the technical aspects of the role
- EIT or PE license is a huge plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and engineering/safety standards relevant to electrical installations (e.g., NEC, NESC, etc.).
