Senior Electrical Engineer

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to design and support building electrical infrastructure systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This role is strictly focused on power distribution and building systems—not electronics, PCB, or software engineering.

The position involves working on projects such as data centers, clean rooms, pharmaceutical facilities, healthcare buildings, schools, and office spaces. Candidates should have strong experience in electrical power systems design and a solid understanding of building codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical power distribution systems for commercial/industrial facilities
• Develop lighting layouts, circuiting, and control systems
• Perform equipment power design and coordination
• Create single-line diagrams and electrical system layouts
• Prepare panel schedules and perform load calculations
• Design and support emergency power systems (generators) and UPS systems
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
• Perform protective device coordination
• Execute photometric analysis for lighting design
• Support power metering and energy analysis
• Ensure compliance with California Energy Code (Title 24)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred)
• OR
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems / building design
• Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical infrastructure design
• Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes (NEC, California amendments)
• Ability to work both independently and in team environments
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or actively pursuing licensure preferred
