Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Drafter to join our team and take on high-complexity metal building projects. In this role, you will not only detail and design intricate structures but also play a crucial part in mentoring our growing team of drafters. If you have a deep understanding of metal building manufacturing and a passion for ensuring precision from the initial drawing to the final fabrication, we want you to help us build the future.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive erection drawings with accurate part identification, quantities, and complete sections to ensure proper installation of materials.
- Create detailed fabrication documents and bills of materials that include precise information about holes, clips, plates, and material utilization.
- Review and check documents prepared by other drafters to ensure compliance with our procedures and provide constructive feedback.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on multiple drafting processes and product applications, guiding junior team members through complex challenges.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other drafters to resolve design clarifications and ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in metal building manufacturing for remote roles, or 6 to 8 years for those open to working in our office.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to seamlessly navigate electronic drafting environments.
- A strong visualization skillset with the ability to look at a 2D drawing and accurately conceptualize it in 3D.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, demonstrated by a willingness to ask questions and engage with the team to resolve discrepancies.
- A diploma or higher educational qualification.
