Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Director of Technical Product Management to lead product strategy, execution, and organizational direction for the machine learning platform and infrastructure that powers personalization, content intelligence, and AI-driven streaming experiences across Paramount’s global ecosystem.
This leader will own the vision, roadmap, and measurable impact of foundational ML capabilities, spanning:
- Model training, evaluation, and lifecycle management
- Real-time and batch model serving infrastructure
- Feature stores, data pipelines, and ML data platforms
- Runtime systems, integrations, and developer toolin
- Reliability, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency of AI systems
You will partner closely with engineering, data science, product, and executive leadership to ensure our ML platform enables rapid innovation, production-grade reliability, and efficient global scale.
This is a highly strategic and deeply technical leadership role responsible not only for how ML systems are built and operated, but for how platform capabilities accelerate the future of AI across Paramount Streaming.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Vision
- Define and lead the multi-year ML platform and infrastructure strategy supporting personalization, discovery, and content intelligence
- Translate company-level goals into scalable platform investments with clear reliability, performance, and cost outcomes
- Identify and incubate next-generation ML platform capabilities, including real-time inference, foundation model enablement, and multimodal infrastructure
- Represent ML platform strategy at the executive and cross-company level
Technical Product Leadership
- End-to-end ML lifecycle platforms (training → deployment → monitoring → iteration)
- Real-time and batch inference infrastructure
- Feature stores, data pipelines, and offline/online consistency
- Experimentation enablement and safe model rollout
- Developer productivity, tooling, and platform APIs
- Partner with ML, platform, and cloud engineering to ensure scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient AI systems
- Drive alignment between research innovation, platform capabilities, and production readiness
Organizational Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of technical product managers
- Establish operating rhythms, product standards, and roadmap governance across personalization
- Foster a data-driven, experimentation-first culture across cross-functional teams
- Influence roadmaps across UX, growth, marketing, and content strategy
Measurement & Business Impact
- Define north-star metrics for ML platform success, including:
- Model deployment velocity
- System reliability and latency
- Infrastructure cost efficiency
- Developer productivity
- Ensure rigorous observability, experimentation safety, and operational excellence
- Balance long-term platform investment with near-term product acceleration
- Communicate platform impact clearly to executive stakeholders and business leadership
Industry Leadership
- Stay at the forefront of:
- Large-scale ML platforms and MLOps evolution
- Real-time inference and distributed model serving
- Foundation model infrastructure and multimodal systems
- Cloud-native and hybrid AI architectures
- Bring external perspective and best practices from leading consumer technology and AI-driven platforms.
Required Expertise
ML Platforms & Infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of ML lifecycle systems, including training, deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Strong understanding of:
- Real-time vs batch inference architectures
- Feature stores and data consistency
- Distributed systems, scalability, and reliability
- Cost optimization in large-scale AI environments
AI/ML Engineering Ecosystem
- Experience with:
- MLOps platforms, orchestration, and CI/CD for ML
- Data pipelines, streaming systems, and offline/online parity
- Model observability, drift detection, and safe rollout strategies
- Cloud infrastructure and performance optimization
Data, Experimentation & Analytics
- Understanding of experimentation frameworks and model evaluation in production environments
- Fluency in SQL, Python, and data analysis workflows
- Ability to translate system performance and telemetry into product direction
Product & Business Leadership
- Proven track record defining platform strategy with measurable engineering and business impact
- Experience prioritizing investments across reliability, scalability, developer velocity, and cost
- Strong executive communication and strategic storytelling
Leadership & Collaboration
- Experience leading PMs or complex platform product areas
- Ability to align engineering, science, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
- Strong influence across matrixed global organizations
Technical Prototyping & Tools
- Demonstrated proficiency with coding tools (e.g., Python, SQL, IDEs) and platforms (e.g., GitHub) necessary for conducting technical analysis and proof-of-concept development.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI coding assistants and modern development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini for developers) to accelerate rapid prototyping and technical investigation.
- Ability to independently create and demonstrate basic Proofs of Concept (POCs) for recommendation and personalization features.
What You Bring
- 10+ years in product management, including
- 5+ years leading ML platform, infrastructure, or AI-driven systems
- People leadership of PMs or equivalent scope
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale ML platforms or distributed AI infrastructure in:
- Streaming, consumer technology, cloud platforms, or AI-first companies
- Deep technical fluency across ML systems, data infrastructure, and distributed architectures
- Hands-on technical fluency to the point of being able to develop basic Proofs of Concept (POCs) and prototypes for new product ideas, utilizing modern coding tools and AI development assistants.
- Strong business intuition tied to velocity, reliability, and cost efficiency at scale
- Passion for building the technical foundations that power the future of streaming AI

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $203,200.00 - 304,800.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
