Salary Range: $123,000 - $162,500 - $203,000

Corus International is seeking a Senior Director, Global IT to join the IT team at the Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, IT is responsible for leading the organization's global IT team, strategy, operations and data initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological innovation. This role ensures resilient, scalable technology services that enable the organization's mission and growth, while actively overseeing global infrastructure platforms and driving operational excellence in alignment with business priorities.


Additionally, the Senior Director leads infrastructure planning and investment, including global deployment strategies, vendor and partner management, and technology lifecycle management. Acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership, this role ensures that infrastructure services, standards, and roadmaps align organizational objectives, risk posture, and sound financial stewardship.

Responsibilities:

Service Delivery and Operations

  • Lead global IT operations and service delivery, ensuring resilient, scalable, and high-performing services that enable the organization's mission and growth.
  • Establish and govern the IT service management operating model, including ITIL-aligned practices for incident, problem, and change management, driving continuous improvement and operational maturity.
  • Own enterprise service performance, setting service level strategies and ensuring services consistently meet or exceed business expectations.
  • Define and govern the global service catalog, ensuring clarity of service ownership, accountability and alignment with business needs.
  • Ensure high availability of critical IT services through effective availability management and disaster recovery planning.
  • Lead enterprise capacity planning and forecasting to ensure infrastructure can scale efficiently with business growth.
  • Partner with senior IT and business leaders to align service delivery priorities with organizational strategy.

Infrastructure Strategy & Governance

  • Own the global infrastructure strategy and governance, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, risk posture, and long-term technology direction.
  • Lead infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, system installations, and migrations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Lead enterprise technology strategy and delivery, including the responsible adoption of AI to improve productivity, decision-making, service delivery, and operational resilience. This leader will establish governance, security, and ethical guardrails for AI while partnering across functions to identify high-impact use cases and ensure measurable outcomes.
  • Guide prioritization and funding of infrastructure initiatives, ensuring value, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Provide leadership for network, systems, and platform architecture, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale.
  • Manage systems software, ensuring that all software components are properly configured, maintained, and updated in line with industry's best practices.
  • Ensure infrastructure security by implementing robust security operations and best practices, protecting the organization's systems and data from threats.
  • Collaborate with the security teams to ensure that infrastructure projects and operations comply with security standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Team Leadership and Vendor Management:

  • Lead a globally distributed IT Infrastructure and Operations organization, including helpdesk, managers, senior engineers, and external partners.
  • Set clear vision, goals, and performance expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and service delivery objectives.
  • Build a high performing team by coaching, supporting succession planning, and developing future leaders.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all IT operations functions.
  • Champion best practices in incident management, problem resolution, and service management, empowering teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaged, and resilient team environment, supporting employee growth, retention, and wellbeing.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships as extensions of the team, ensuring performance standards, accountability, and value delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field and 10 or more years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience; or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience supervising IT professionals, including leading teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience leading or maturing IT service management practices in complex organizational environments.
  • Experience overseeing enterprise systems, such as ERP platforms (e.g., Sage Intacct) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles is expected; formal certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in managing networks, systems, and cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
  • Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Proficiency in network security principles and practices.
  • Extensive experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Familiarity with storage systems (SAN, NAS).
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Strong leadership, project management, strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS) are highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in virtualization or cloud technologies.

Working Conditions, Travel and Environment

  • Corus has a hybrid work policy, allowing work to be done remotely; two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) in the office is required. The employee must be available to work outside normal office hours or weekends as required.
  • This position must be able to travel as required for standard domestic and international business purposes. While performing the duties of this job in different locations, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high-security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions, as well as to infectious diseases.
