The primary role of this position is to lead the strategic formulary development and execution of our Express Scripts standard commercial formulary offerings. An emphasis will be placed on strategically evaluating financial models for optimum formulary value within clinical guidance. This leader will work cross-functionally with Pharma Contracting, Sales & Account Management and Finance partners to proactively evaluate, maintain and enhance formulary strategies, with a focus on innovation. This leader will serve as the primary interface with Sales and Account Management regarding all aspects of standard commercial formularies and will represent our formulary team both internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Development of commercial formulary strategy.

  • Oversee execution of formulary financial modeling, operational execution and deployment.

  • Track and analyze formulary financials.

  • Innovate, drive and support strategies around emerging formulary trends.

  • Represent team internally and externally during client meetings, finalists, conferences, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred.

  • Current U.S. Pharmacist License.

  • At least 10 years of working in the pharmacy environment with at least 5 years of significant formulary management/development experience.

  • Strong people leadership experience with the ability to motivate and lead a team in fast paced and competitive environment.

  • Knowledge of PBM or Healthcare industry.

  • Advanced problem solving skills with the ability to work cross–functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies.

  • Embraces creativity to set a vision for the team in successful resolution of pressing issues.

  • Track record of developing new and innovative strategies to address business needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a team’s work load and meet deadlines.

  • Able to guide a team towards specific deliverables within an environment of tight deadlines and significant pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills, including presentations and negotiations.

  • Ability to handle complex analysis from issue identification to proposal of potential solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate financial data and drive action to create additional value.

  • Strong business, financial, analytical and organizational skills.

  • Technology proficiency including Microsoft Office, WebEx, etc.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 177,100 - 295,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan and long term incentive plan.
