Senior Digital Strategy Consultant, ServiceNow Practice
Aberdeen Advisors | Remote – United States (EST/CST coverage) | Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire
About the Role
Aberdeen Advisors is a boutique strategy and digital transformation firm founded by ex-Big 4 leaders. We advise C-suite executives at Fortune 500s, private equity portfolios, and high-growth startups on the strategy, operating model, and technology decisions that drive business outcomes — and ServiceNow is increasingly the platform powering those decisions.
We are hiring a Senior Digital Strategy Consultant to join our ServiceNow Practice. This is a strategy and advisory role focused on helping clients translate executive intent into operating reality through the ServiceNow platform.
What You'll Do
- Define ServiceNow-enabled target operating models that translate business strategy into IT, employee, and customer workflows
- Lead application portfolio rationalization engagements, including TIME assessments, business capability modeling, and app retire/replace/reinvest decisions
- Build strategic portfolio cases using SPM data to help clients prioritize IT investments at the board level
- Author executive-level deliverables: POVs, business cases, transformation roadmaps, and frameworks that turn ambiguity into sequenced plans
- Advise C-suite stakeholders directly — develop, present, and defend points of view while owning the client relationship
- Lead vendor selection and implementation oversight, including ServiceNow partner selection, SOWs, and delivery governance
- Partner with Aberdeen's leadership team to deliver engagements end-to-end and contribute to practice growth
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 6+ years of management consulting experience at a leading firm — Big 4, MBB, or top-tier strategy or digital boutique (Deloitte, PwC, EY-Parthenon, KPMG, Accenture, IBM iX, Capgemini Invent, West Monroe, Slalom, Bain, BCG, McKinsey, or equivalent)
- Track record of authoring strategy deliverables — operating models, business cases, technology roadmaps, and transformation POVs — as the lead author
- Hands-on ServiceNow experience as a strategist, advisor, or workstream lead, with a strong understanding of how the platform creates business value
- Proven ability to lead C-suite and VP+ client conversations independently and bring structure to ambiguous problems
- Bachelor's degree required
- Solid business acumen across multiple sectors with working knowledge of finance, accounting, and budgeting fundamentals
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into defensible recommendations
Strongly Preferred:
- Hands-on engagement experience with Application Portfolio Management (APM) — TIME assessments, business capability modeling, app rationalization
- Hands-on engagement experience with Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM, formerly ITBM) — demand, planning, portfolio, and resource management
- Working knowledge of Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data structures, definitions, and governance — sufficient to advise clients on service mapping, business service definitions, and data foundation decisions
- MBA, ideally with a focus in Strategy, Digital, Tech, or Finance
- ServiceNow certifications: CIS-APM, CIS-SPM, CSA, or CIS-ITSM
- Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Now Assist, or AI/ML use cases on the platform
- Data visualization proficiency: Tableau, Power BI, or ServiceNow Performance Analytics
- Industry depth in Healthcare, Financial Services, or Technology sectors
Core Consulting Skills (Required):
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
- Ability to develop frameworks, business cases, and roadmaps that deliver lasting value
- Quantitative analysis combined with strategic thinking and tactical execution
- Excellent communication across Slack, email, phone, and PowerPoint
- Ability to lead client discussions independently in a fast-moving boutique environment
- Comfort moving into new modules, client priorities, and tools
