Our client, a California-born contemporary lifestyle brand known for premium fabrications, effortless fit, and a loyal following at top-tier retailers, is looking for a Senior Wovens Designer to join their growing team. This role is based in Los Angeles with an onsite schedule.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a wovens-focused designer who has a feminine aesthetic and has worked with textiles and prints. You will be stepping into a role that touches across the full wovens spectrum — from fluid soft fabrications and print-driven blouses and dresses to structured outerwear, leather, and suedes — with real ownership over the category and the team behind it. Strong hand sketching skills are required.
What you will be doin
- Leading the design of wovens categories across soft and hard fabrications including blouses, dresses, tops, outerwear, leather, suedes, and structured silhouettes, with a strong lean toward soft wovens and print-heavy storytelling
- Overseeing and mentoring two designers — guiding their creative development and keeping the team organized and on track through the full design calendar
- Bringing a deep, intuitive understanding of garment construction to every step of the process, from concept through fitting, with the ability to problem-solve on the floor alongside the production team
- Sketching with exceptional hand-drawing ability as a primary communication tool, presenting work directly to creative leadership and setting the visual standard for the team
- Collaborating closely with the textile team with a designer's eye toward how prints are built into the silhouette, not just placed on it — designing for the print rather than around it
What they are looking for
- A seasoned wovens designer with demonstrated expertise across both soft and hard fabrications, with particular depth in soft wovens, blouses, dresses, and print-forward categories
- Beautiful, confident hand sketching ability — this is non-negotiable and central to how work is presented and reviewed at this company
- Experience managing or mentoring junior designers, with the organizational discipline to run a category across multiple silhouette types simultaneously
- Strong garment construction knowledge across woven categories including outerwear, leather, suedes, structured dresses, and tops, with fitting room savvy and the ability to guide a production team through execution
- A sharp pulse on trend and print direction — someone who can design with textiles in mind from the earliest stages of the creative process and bring a cohesive, commercial point of view to every season
