Senior Data Quality Lead

The Midtown Group
Bethesda, MD

We are actively interviewing for the following job. If interested please apply now.

We are a leading financial institution specializing in private equity and credit solutions, and we are looking for a Senior Data Quality Lead to establish and own our data quality practice from the ground up. Our technology organization has already built out our core Microsoft Fabric infrastructure, but we are currently at "Phase Zero" of our data governance implementation.

In this high-impact, greenfield opportunity, you will serve as the founding technical voice for our data quality framework. While this is a lead position, you will operate as a hands-on individual contributor to architect validation patterns and ensure audit-ready data flows across our platform.

What You Will Do

  • Architect and execute an enterprise data quality framework, defining validation rules and acceptance thresholds across the full medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Evaluate, select, and procure the right automated data observability tooling for our environment (e.g., Great Expectations, Soda, Deequ, Monte Carlo).
  • Spearhead the integration of quality rules and data lineage into Microsoft Purview and prepare for upcoming integrations with Prophecy.
  • Build automated source-to-target reconciliation workflows against core financial source systems.
  • Write advanced SQL queries to handle profiling logic, anomaly detection, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate directly with data engineers and business product owners to identify data risks and enforce controls before issues reach downstream dashboards.
  • Wear multiple hats as needed, with opportunities to explore data engineering tasks or support broader application testing.

What We Are Looking For

  • A proven track record of standing up a data quality practice, defining rule taxonomies, and building automated validation pipelines.
  • Deep, hands-on technical expertise within the Azure ecosystem, specifically utilizing Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, OneLake, Delta Lake, and Parquet formats).
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and a strong understanding of data cataloging and lineage tools like Microsoft Purview.
  • An agile mindset with the autonomy to act as both a high-level architect and a hands-on builder.
  • Prior experience with financial data systems (such as loan accounting, general ledger, or portfolio platforms like ACBS/CLS, NetSuite, Black Mountain, or Deal Cloud) is highly preferred to accelerate the business learning curve.

Why Join Us? We foster a collaborative culture where innovation and long-term thinking drive our success. You will have the unique opportunity to define the technology stack and framework for a critical enterprise initiative, directly impacting how our organization utilizes its data.

To apply, please submit your resume highlighting your experience building data quality frameworks within Azure/Microsoft Fabric environments.
