A well‑established food & beverage manufacturer in the East Bay is hiring a Senior Cost Accountant to own product costing, inventory, and manufacturing insights for a high‑volume production environment.
This is a high‑visibility role partnering closely with plant leadership and finance, with real influence over process improvement, efficiency initiatives, and profitability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own standard costing and production variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead)
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to explain the “why” behind the numbers
- Monitor and reconcile inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods)
- Support BOM updates, budgeting, forecasting, and new product launches
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements
- Support audits, GAAP compliance, and internal controls
What they’re looking for:
- 5–7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Food & beverage experience strongly preferred
- Strong inventory, variance analysis, and margin analysis skills
- ERP experience (Sage X3 a plus) and strong Excel
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross‑functionally
