Senior Cost Accountant/Analyst (Manufacturing)

Anaheim - 3 days per week in office (relo assistance is available)

$100-130K plus bonus


Keys:

  • We are looking for a cost accountant/analyst from the manufacturing industry
  • Cost analysis, pricing and reporting for manufacturing operations including PPV, COGS, gross margin analysis, etc
  • Position is responsible for providing analysis of standard costs, Bill of Materials, inventory, material, labor & overhead variances, scrap, etc. and develop/enhance reports that serve to increase manufacturing efficiency and inventory turns.

  • Seeking a data-driven and detail-oriented approach to work closely with the Sales Team, serving as a strategic partner to develop and maintain competitive pricing strategies for our products.
  • The ideal candidate will review quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness for products, ensuring alignment with company policies, customer requirements, and market conditions. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze material usage, purchase price, labor & overhead variances monthly.
  • Work closely with Operations personnel to analyze variances and formulate corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Operations personnel to analyze actual vs. standard manufacturing costs.
  • Perform periodic analysis of excess & obsolete inventory.
  • Analyze customer requests and specifications to ensure quotes are accurate and timely.
  • Ensure quotes comply with pricing guidelines, margin targets and contractual terms.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases, quote templates and configuration tools.
  • Review historical data and market trends to support pricing decisions.
  • Work with Sales & Operations personnel to execute disposition of E&O inventory.
  • Assist with periodic standard cost changes and inventory revaluations.
  • Compile inventory and cost data for preparation of operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Participate in and report results of annual physical inventory.
  • Performs analytics and provides reporting around company 80-20 activities
  • Provides audit support for physical inventories and periodic cycle counts
  • Participates in monthly closing process with analysis and creation of manual journal entries.
  • Participates and/or initiates projects to improve costs, efficiencies, and transactional integrity in the company
  • Prepares ad hoc reporting and analyses, assist with research on cost accounting questions and assist with special projects as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)

Degree: Bachelor’s Degree

Major: Accounting and/or Finance

Years of Experience: 4+ Years
