Supporting the delivery of bespoke numerically oriented geoscience projects and capabilities to assist decision making in developing the subsurface, with a particular focus on simulating physical processes. Our typical consulting projects span: energy systems; underground and surface mining; water resources, geological storage of nuclear waste; and tunnels/excavations for infrastructure.
Assisting with the development of industry-relevant solutions (e.g. scripting for workflow automation as part of AI/ML efforts, data interpretation, numerical simulation, or risk analysis) within the global geoscience modelling team, including development of WSP’s in-house FracMan® modelling software, to stay ahead of the market.
Staying abreast of the latest Digital technological advances and industry trends in the fields of subsurface risk assessment and model-based decision making, including flexible learning of new skills.
Being proactive with WSP’s global practice area networks (PANs) in seeking opportunities to collaborate on business and technical and initiatives across Energy, Infrastructure, Nuclear Waste and Mining sectors.
Development and support of links with our commercial clients in WSP’s various business sectors, including seeking opportunities to offer our existing services, innovating new solutions to fit clients’ needs, or delivering software training courses.
Supporting business development and writing technical scoping documents to help develop our FracMan & Geoscience technical toolkit for increased digital capability.
Communicate project deliverables to clients and be an advocate for our modelling services to both external and internal stakeholders.
You will be part of WSP’s expanding GCC‑India Earth & Environment (E&E) team, contributing core geoscience modelling capability that supports major international projects across Energy, Nuclear, Water, Infrastructure and Mining, principally supporting the FracMan & Geosciences team (part of Ground & Water) in WSP UK.
You will join our GCC team in India, helping strengthen WSP’s consulting offering in terms of numerical modelling capability and supporting the development of innovative digital workflows used across international projects.
You will be principally supporting a multi-disciplinary team of experts in the UK, with a focus on the delivery of technologically driven consulting and software solutions.
Our projects range across industries including Energy (including renewables such as deep geothermal and CCUS, as well as oil & gas), Nuclear waste disposal (spanning geosphere characterisation, safety and engineering), Infrastructure (tunnels, slopes, geotechnics and underground storage), Water (groundwater resource management), and Mining (from slope/bench stability, underground mining, to lithium extraction and leaching).
Our business and clients span all corners of the globe, covering major international companies, government organisations and academia.
This role supports the WSP Geoscience group, based in the UK. The core of our UK-based team is made up of approximately 20 members, covering geology, geomechanics, flow simulation, geophysics and software engineering. We operate internationally and routinely collaborate with international geoscience and engineering colleagues in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Australasia on the delivery of world-class consulting projects.
