SUMMARY

We are building out a team and seeking 3 Senior Commodity Buyers with a background in mechanical, metal fabrication, and/or electrical commodities to support manufacturing sites and customer‑driven projects. This role combines strategic commodity management with hands‑on sourcing execution to develop commodity sourcing strategies, manage & develop suppliers, and ensure critical materials are procured competitively and delivered in alignment with production and project requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own assigned commodity areas across mechanical, metal fabrication, and/or electrical components, supporting multiple manufacturing sites and project requirements.
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with engineering requirements, supply risk, cost competitiveness, and business priorities.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, and supply planning to understand technical requirements, evaluate supplier capabilities, and support new and existing programs.
  • Lead the full RFx lifecycle (RFI/RFP/RFQ), including supplier identification, technical and commercial clarification, proposal evaluation, and sourcing recommendations.
  • Conduct cost analysis and supplier benchmarking to drive sourcing competitiveness for both standard and engineered components.
  • Lead commercial negotiations in accordance with procurement policies, including pricing, terms, and supplier agreements.
  • Manage supplier performance through structured reporting, monitoring delivery, quality, and responsiveness, and resolving or escalating issues as needed.
  • Support manufacturing and project execution, ensuring materials are sourced and delivered in alignment with production schedules and project milestones.
  • Manage procurement activities related to engineering changes, scope adjustments, and variation requests, ensuring commercial and contractual alignment.
  • Support ongoing business transformation initiatives, including integration of new sites, systems, and processes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain purchase orders, contracts, and documentation in compliance with internal procurement governance and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of procurement or commodity management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience sourcing any of the following: electrical, mechanical, stampings, castings, forgings, sheet metal
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with cost analysis and reporting
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influence skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, production-driven and engineered-to-order project-based environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
