Position Summary 

The Senior Programmer will oversee a portfolio of multiple and complex custom cabinetry jobs to ensure that they align with company goals and schedules.  This position will be instrumental in leading and developing a team of programmers.  The Senior Programmer will focus on high-level strategic planning, resource allocation, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation across all cabinetry projects ensuring impeccable accuracy and attention to detail at all times.    

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage multiple, often interrelated, projects simultaneously.  
  • Translate design drawings into manufacturing machine code (G-Code) using various software programs. 
  • Optimize toolpaths for efficiency, troubleshoot machinery, and ensure accuracy in producing custom cabinetry components.   
  • Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and architectural drawings to generate accurate cut lists and machining paths.   
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of programmers.  
  • Communicate with design specialists and be able to provide constructive feedback where needed.  
  • Ensure projects are completed in established timeframe.  
  • Ensure all OSHA regulations and company safety policies are followed on-site.  
  • Ensure all projects are reviewed with a strong emphasis on accuracy.  

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.  Education in business or architecture with experience in CAD/CAM software and  woodworking technology.  
  • Experience: Thorough understanding of multiple cabinetry construction processes.  
  • Strong skills in managing teams and leading meetings.  
  • Experience with project management software (MS Project, Excel). 
  • Ability to read schematics, shop drawings and appliance specifications.  
  • Understanding of protocols related to finishing materials and equipment. 
  • Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and physical ability to work on-site, including lifting and inspecting, often in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements 

  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting located in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises, various smells, bright lights, and dust.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
