What’s in it for you:

The Sr. Category Manager- Drives develops multi-region, multi-plant, and multi-SBU spend management strategies. This role monitors market conditions, emerging technologies, supply chain capacity and capability, product knowledge, customer requirements, and supply/demand challenges. The role guides the selection, development, and management of suppliers to achieve cost and performance targets.

Additional responsibilities include analysis of inventory programs, product lifecycle management, supplier resiliency, diversity, continuous improvement initiatives, and collaboration with global integrated supply chain and engineering teams. This position leads negotiation and contract execution to maximize value across the Trane Technologies enterprise.


What you will do:

• Lead and manage the Category team in strategy development, procurement process execution, and supplier relationship management.

• Research emerging technologies and coordinate quarterly engineering roadmap reviews with preferred suppliers.

• Manage supplier development activities, including supplier selection, capability assessments, quality improvement, and readiness.

• Serve as supply chain subject-matter expert between category suppliers and engineering teams.

• Develop and deploy multi-year category strategies to increase spend with preferred suppliers.

• Build strong relationships and communication strategies with internal partners to align business needs with supply base direction.

• Provide leadership and oversight of sourcing processes to maximize enterprise value.

• Lead negotiation and lifecycle management of contracts, maximizing value while minimizing risk.

• Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies aligned with category objectives.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's degree required.

• 7+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Commodity Management.

• Experience developing and managing a global supply base.

• Demonstrated success in supplier development across regions, high-level negotiations, cross-functional project leadership, and team development.

• Experience developing and implementing enterprise-level strategies.

• Strong project management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience creating and executing standard processes and tools.
