Senior Calibration Technician

Work Schedule: On-site role

Shift Availability:

  • 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • (Overtime as required)

Position Summary

The Senior Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring electrical, electronic, mechanical, and analytical measuring equipment complies with established industry standards. The role involves calibration, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and coordination with internal teams and external calibration vendors within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Test and calibrate indicating and recording equipment to ensure accurate performance.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment down to the component level.
  • Operate electronic meters and various testing equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate calibration schedules and communicate with external calibration vendors.
  • Resolve calibration-related issues and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Perform assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize software tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access databases.
  • Support additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and technical understanding.
  • Knowledge of:
  • Anti-static handling procedures for sensitive electronic components
  • Electrical safety practices
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Medical Device Regulations
  • Ability to learn functionality and configurations of infusion pumps.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of college coursework, technical trade school, or military electronics training preferred.
  • Experience in calibration or related technical work preferred.
  • Experience within medical device or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Ability to sit and stand throughout the workday.
  • Physical capabilities include:
  • Lift and carry up to 15 pounds from floor to shoulder.
  • Lift up to 2 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
  • Push and pull up to 6 pounds of force.

Work Environment

This role operates within a regulated manufacturing environment subject to FDA compliance and strict operational procedures designed to protect product integrity.

Requirements include:

  • Wearing a static-protective smock within manufacturing areas.
  • Using grounded wrist straps connected to workstations.
  • Working in close proximity to other employees.
  • Operating in temperature- and humidity-controlled environments.
  • Occasional exposure to de-greasers, oils, and electronic equipment cleaning materials.
