Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and trend-driven Retail Buyer to lead product selection and purchasing for MoCo Boutique. This role is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and managing merchandise that aligns with our brand, meets customer demand, and drives profitability.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for fashion, understands retail trends, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Select and purchase apparel, accessories, and related products in alignment with brand identity and customer preferences
- Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to inform buying decisions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines
- Manage open-to-buy budgets and inventory levels to maximize profitability and minimize overstock
- Attend markets and vendor appointments to source new products and brands
- Collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams to plan product launches and seasonal assortments
- Monitor product performance and adjust future buys accordingly
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail buying experience (boutique or fashion retail preferred)
- Strong understanding of current fashion trends and customer behavior
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with experience reviewing sales and inventory reports
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in retail systems, Excel, and inventory management tools
