Job Description:
Responsible for leading all purchasing and sourcing activities, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven acquisition of materials, components, and services. This role plays a critical part in supporting production schedules, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and overall operational efficiency.
They will partner closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance to align procurement strategies with company goals, including lead-time reduction, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing Leadership
•Oversee all procurement activities including raw materials, components, and indirect supplies
•Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support production demands and business growth
•Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and customer delivery commitments
•Manage purchase order processes within ERP (Business Central)
Supplier Management
•Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to support cost, quality, and capacity requirements
•Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and reliability
•Monitor supplier performance including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness
•Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, terms, and long-term agreements
Cost Control & Financial Alignment
•Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery
•Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
•Monitor and manage spending to align with company financial goals
•Support margin improvement initiatives through strategic sourcing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•Work closely with Engineering on new product development and component sourcing
•Partner with Quality to ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and quality standards
•Collaborate with Production and Planning to support workflow, scheduling, and bottleneck management
•Support Sales and Customer Service with material availability and lead-time communication
Inventory & Planning Support
•Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and working capital
•Support demand planning and forecasting activities
•Assist in reducing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory
Process Improvement & Systems
•Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and workflows
•Ensure data accuracy and system utilization within Business Central
•Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and documentation
•Support ERP enhancements and reporting capabilities
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred
•5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
•Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts
•Strong understanding of inventory management, MRP, and production planning
•Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central strongly preferred)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
