Infrastructure Services Analytics and Insights provides strategic consulting and insights pertaining to technology infrastructure, services, and related management elements.  This includes the analyses of both process and technologies related to the monitoring and management of the Wells Fargo enterprise. Additionally, the team provides comprehensive review of the data used across the collective services seeking to optimize and exploit this data, to improve delivery precision and operational support efficiency.

As part of the Infrastructure Service Analytics and Insights team, this position is an advanced subject matter expert responsible for dashboards, visualizations and data analytics work that support technology infrastructure goals and promote data driven business decisions within the technology infrastructure environment. The position is focused on infrastructure data, hardware and services across the global footprint to include distributed systems, mainframe, midrange, storage, cloud-based systems, network, and production services.

The successful candidate will play a critical role as a team lead who applies hands-on experience with data visualization, user experience design, reporting, coding, and data analytics to drive the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of robust business intelligence systems and data visualization strategies. Specifically, the candidate will build and maintain PowerBI based interactive dashboards, identify current data gaps and leverage available analytics tools and programming languages to mine available data and deliver analytic findings, and strategize with the team to create PowerBI based solutions with a robust focus on automation, scalability, and action oriented intelligence.

This position requires a candidate that will effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure enterprise environment using Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as team lead to migrate dashboard and reporting environment from Splunk and Tableau to Microsoft PowerBI, then subsequently maintain PowerBI moving forward
  • Act as senior developer working with other developers and business analysts on programming, development, testing, and implementation processes
  • Analyze highly complex business requirements, designs and write technical specifications.
  • Collaborate across teams, including global teams, to create high quality solution designs.
  • Provide design and development support for analytical systems and data integration applications
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of available technology, analytical techniques, tools, and existing designs to source, map, extract and load large volumes of data.
  • Work on complex problems where analysis of data requires a solid grasp of technology infrastructure
  • Create clear results and reports that tell a compelling story to improve infrastructure services to include, but not limited to, reduce mean-time-to-recovery (MTTR), anomaly detection, proactive trending and predictive analytics to avoid impacts, pattern, standardize and automate statistical and other analysis to include adoption with service owners. 
  • Provide high quality narratives that support data analysis to ensure the analysis tells a story and promotes data driven decisions
  • Add business intelligence reporting capability to create actionable reports and notification tools that can be leveraged by various infrastructure teams to accurately monitor and reflect compliance / non-compliance status at the asset level.
  • Handle risk and control requirements, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure success; re-engineering and driving continual service improvement.
  • Consult and collaborate with internal business partners such as product management, technical leads, systems operations, and service and support organizations that own the data and/or service.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering and implementation experience
  • 2+ years of experience creating visual reports with one or combination of the following: SSRS, Tableau, or PowerBI
  • 5+ years of experience with Tableau reports, visualization dashboards and data exploration
  • 5+ years of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), MuleSoft experience, or a combination of both
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple medium technology development efforts within a major line of business
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
  • 5+ years of Autosys experience
  • 5 + years of experience with Elasticsearch development, integration or support
  • Experience customizing Splunk Dashboards via the XML source
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • Knowledge and understanding of GitHub
  • 4+ years of Agile experience

  • Strong desire for exploring, evaluating and understanding new technologies
  • Proven success working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities while managing tactical and strategic deliverables to meet time lines
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end analytics lifecycle and analytics work products including reporting, descriptive analytics, models, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience creating executive level dashboards, analytics, and reports using advanced visualization tools
