Job Title: Senior Benefits Specialist (Contract‑to‑Hire)

Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in California)

Work Schedule: Pacific Time business hours

Compensation: $90,000–$100,000 annually (contract‑to‑hire)

Position Overview

LHH is seeking an experienced Senior Benefits Specialist to join our client's HR team in a contract‑to‑hire capacity. This is a fully remote role supporting approximately 1,100 employees across multiple benefit programs. The Senior Benefits Specialist will own day‑to‑day benefits administration and work closely with the HR Manager while serving as the primary point of contact for employee benefits.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on benefits professional who is comfortable operating independently in a fast‑paced environment and partnering cross‑functionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and leave programs

• Manage leave of absence administration, including coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders

• Oversee benefits billing processes, reconciliation, and issue resolution with carriers and vendors

• Perform regular Excel‑based analysis, including census audits and enrollment vs. billing reconciliation

• Maintain and update benefits data within UKG (UltiPro), ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and escalations

• Partner closely with the HR Manager on benefits strategy, open enrollment, and ongoing process improvements

• Support annual open enrollment planning, execution, and communications

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and California state benefits regulations

• Coordinate with external vendors, brokers, and carriers as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on benefits administration experience in a corporate or HR environment

• Strong working knowledge of UKG (UltiPro) required

• Proven experience managing leave administration and benefits billing

• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliation (census vs. enrollment)

• Experience supporting an employee population of approximately 1,000+ employees

• Comfortable operating as a solo benefits practitioner while collaborating closely with HR leadership

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow‑through

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
