We are looking for a Benefits Specialist who is detail-oriented, employee-focused, and organized to join us in our Reward & Talent Operations team, based in our Atlanta, Georgia office in the United States.

About the role

You will administer the day-to-day benefit functions for U.S. UCB employees including healthcare, retirement, life, wellness, voluntary, HSA, ESPP, ACA, COBRA and other benefit programs as required. You will be responsible for managing disability, FMLA, and other state leaves. Organizing and facilitating the annual benefit enrollment process and incorporate requested changes in Benefit and Payroll databases. Serve as part of the HR Answers team by responding to both benefit and general HR questions.

Who you’ll work with

You will work as part of a collaborative HR operations team, partnering with payroll, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Together, the team supports employees by providing clear guidance, resolving benefit-related questions, and delivering annual benefit activities such as open enrollment.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate new enrollments, terminations and status changes with multiple benefit vendors and systems.
  • Respond to employee and vendor questions relating to 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase, Medical, Dental, Vision, Short & Long-Term Disability, Leaves and other benefit topics. Document all cases in HR Answers tool as well as answer other HR related questions as part of the HR Answers team.
  • Manage ESPP program, quarterly purchases, deductions, imports, audits.
  • Organize and facilitate the annual open enrollment process including communication, system set up, enrolment, audit, etc.
  • Update and process all benefit deductions in payroll system and manage HSA funding each pay period.
  • Manage disability and FMLA programs and coordinate benefit payments with payroll.
  • Manage COBRA processes, including annual enrolment.
  • Monitor dependent verifications, including domestic partner enrollments.
  • Ongoing ACA vendor monitoring to maintain compliance. Review and approve forms for required annual reporting.
  • Follow-up with carriers regarding status of claims for disability plans including responding to calls from managers and employees regarding disability benefits.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting employee benefit programs
  • This is a hybrid role (at least 40% of the time in office).

Preferred requirements

  • Experience supporting U.S. health and retirement benefit plans
  • Experience with HR systems or payroll systems
  • Knowledge of leave, disability, or compliance-related benefit processes
  • Professional benefits certification
  • Experience working with benefit vendors and payroll partners
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong customer service and written communication skills

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $108,000 - $141,800. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
