Akkodis is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a Direct Hire with a client in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate is responsible for leading end-to-end Automation/Controls Engineer projects including food, dairy, or beverage, PLC/HMI programming is a plus.
Salary Range: $120k-$140k/Annum + Benefits, The range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Description:
· Develop and design control system architectures, including PLC/HMI programming and electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
· Lead full project lifecycle activities from design, implementation, and commissioning to client handover.
· Configure and program PLCs and develop SCADA/HMI applications.
· Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams, acting as the primary technical point of contact.
· Support system testing, troubleshooting, and on-site/remote commissioning activities.
· Create technical documentation and train client personnel on system operations and maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related discipline (preferred).
· 10+ years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering, preferably in food, dairy, or beverage industries.
· Strong expertise in PLC and HMI/SCADA programming along with hands-on experience in system design and commissioning.
· Proven ability to lead full project lifecycles, develop control system architectures, and manage client interactions while ensuring high-quality delivery and system reliability.
