We are partnering with one of the world's leading global alternative asset managers to identify a high-caliber investment professional for a Senior Associate or Vice President-level role within their Credit Portfolio Management Strategy team.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing, lean investment team at the nexus of portfolio construction, credit strategy, and institutional client engagement. The team sits within the firm's Portfolio Management Strategy team, which delivers bespoke multi-asset portfolio solutions to institutional investors, private wealth platforms, and family capital clients globally. The credit platform spans infrastructure debt, corporate credit, real estate credit, and asset-based finance, with access to both proprietary strategies and a distinguished roster of partner credit managers.
The successful candidate will take on meaningful responsibility from day one, contributing across the full investment lifecycle; from opportunity sourcing and mandate design through portfolio management, performance monitoring, and senior client interaction. This is an intellectually demanding role that rewards both analytical rigor and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and structure customized credit investment solutions for institutional, private wealth, and family capital clients, drawing on the full breadth of the firm's credit capabilities across infrastructure, corporates, real estate, and asset-based finance
- Source and maintain a pipeline of investment opportunities across primary funds, secondaries, co-investments, and direct investments
- Evaluate proposed mandates against client-specific objectives including yield, total return, tax, liquidity, regulatory, and asset-liability considerations; model performance under varying market and economic scenarios
- Draft and present investment recommendations and new mandate proposals to the Investment Committee
- Provide ongoing portfolio management for separately managed accounts, including deployment, performance monitoring, liquidity management, rebalancing, risk monitoring, and client reporting
- Conduct performance attribution and generate analytics to inform portfolio decisions and support regular Portfolio and Risk Review meetings
- Stay current on credit market trends across the firm's investment platforms; translate market intelligence into relative value views and actionable deployment recommendations
- Partner with fundraising, investor relations, and investment specialist teams to support new business proposals and respond to investor inquiries
Required:
- 5-8 years of experience in an Alternatives or Credit Investing, Portfolio Management, or Investment Strategy role
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
- Demonstrated excellence in Excel-based financial modeling, including multi-period cash flow models, capital structure waterfalls, and portfolio-level analytics
- Strong working knowledge of private credit asset classes and the vehicles used to access them (commingled funds, SMAs, co-investments, securitizations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to distill complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences
- Experience preparing Investment Committee memos, client-facing presentations, and marketing materials
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a lean, fast-paced team environment
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and collaborative with strong judgment on when to act independently and when to escalate
