What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets (RBCCM) is looking for a Senior Associate, U.S. Foundation and Corporate Citizenship. This candidate will be responsible for supporting the Foundation & Philanthropy Manager in implementing the Foundation's giving strategy and overseeing a portfolio of charitable partners, which will aim to provide youth in the United States increased, equitable access to the tools and resources needed to attain mental well-being and academic and career success.

Additionally, the Senior Associate will partner with the Corporate Citizenship Associate to strengthening RBCCM's Culture of Philanthropy through the execution of charitable initiatives and programs including the RBC Employee Giving Campaign and RBC Charity Day for the Kids.

What will you do?

RBC Foundation USA (Capital Markets):

  • Support U.S. Foundation Manager on the development, execution and communication of the US Foundation strategy, including assistance with executive communications and communications.

  • Support U.S. Foundation Manager on day-to-day management of donations committee, consisting of senior leaders from across the Firm, which includes meeting support, presentations and communications.

  • Team lead on U.S. Foundation impact measurement

  • Grant management and due diligence for current and prospective charitable partnerships with a specific focus on the Youth Success: Mental Health and Pathways & Mentorship programs; support Corporate Citizenship Associate on environmental grant management

  • Manage incoming employee inquiries and incoming external inquiries related to U.S. Foundation support; assist with research, strategy and proactive outreach to potential partners

  • Manage and oversee grant management system (SmartSimple)

Employee Engagement

  • Lead the planning, management, execution and internal communications of the Charity Day for the Kids initiative.

  • Partner with corporate Citizenship Associate on all employee engagement programs, including the Employee Giving Campaign, skills-based volunteerism, board matching, and ad-hoc opportunities with charitable partners.

  • Lead the Citizenship Champions network, a group of internal senior leaders who activate our citizenship and philanthropic work for employees.

Communications & Reporting

  • Partner with Corporate Citizenship Associate with internal employee communications

  • Support the activation of partnerships and initiatives through multi-channel marketing campaigns

  • Support the tracking and reporting of all charitable contributions and volunteerism for U.S. Capital Markets

In this role, you will collaborate with RBCCM Corporate Citizenship counterparts in Canada, the UK, and EMEA, as well as RBC Enterprise, City National Bank, and RBC Wealth Management

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Impact, Business, Marketing or Communications

  • 5-7 years' experience in a Corporate Social Responsibility role, preferably at a large, multinational corporation or a large non-profit organization

  • Previous experience and proven track record for grant management for a corporate organization, private foundation or non-profit organization

  • Previous experience collecting and managing impact measurements and effectively communicating results

  • Previous experience and a strong aptitude for streamlining complex information into succinct and simplified frameworks to be presented regularly to internal stakeholders and senior executives

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and public speaking/presenting a must, with experience presenting strategic information to senior executives strongly preferred

  • Experience managing large, philanthropic events, activations and communications is preferred

  • Organizational, interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure, corporate environment while maintaining a high attention to detail

  • Fully proficient in all MS Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel. Previous experience using SmartSimple, Benevity or other platforms a plus.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $90,000 - $110,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
