About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a leading clean energy platform at the forefront of solar and energy storage. This is a chance to join a high-impact, mission-driven team working on some of the most commercially sophisticated challenges in renewable energy today.

The business operates across utility-scale and distributed assets, combining strong financial backing with a highly analytical, trading-oriented approach to portfolio management and optimization.

The Role

This is a senior individual contributor position within the Quantitative Analytics team, sitting at the heart of commercial and revenue strategy.

You’ll play a key role in developing and deploying quantitative models that directly influence trading decisions, asset optimization, and commercial structuring. Alongside hands-on technical work, you’ll help mentor junior team members and shape how the team approaches complex analytical problems.

It’s a strong fit for someone who enjoys building models end-to-end but is also ready to step into a more influential, leadership-oriented position.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and own models that drive trading strategy and portfolio optimization across solar and battery storage assets
  • Develop pricing and risk tools for structured energy products and offtake agreements
  • Analyze market dynamics (congestion, basis, curtailment, intermittency) to uncover commercial opportunities
  • Integrate data from across power markets, including weather, generation, and transmission
  • Support battery storage optimization, including forecasting and day-ahead dispatch strategies
  • Review and structure commercial agreements, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Apply machine learning and optimization techniques to improve forecasting and performance
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performance, collaborative culture
  • Partner closely with commercial, development, finance, and asset management teams

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8 years’ experience in power markets, trading, or quantitative analytics within energy
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience working in collaborative codebases
  • Solid understanding of power market dynamics and pricing
  • Experience with structured products, derivatives, or energy contracts
  • Exposure to machine learning or optimization in a commercial setting
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to operate independently
  • Interest in mentoring and helping develop junior talent
  • Background in renewable energy (solar, storage) is a strong plus

Why This Role?

  • Direct impact on trading strategy and revenue generation
  • Exposure to both renewables and battery storage optimization
  • Clear pathway into technical leadership
  • Highly collaborative, commercially driven environment
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge problems in the energy transition
